Powders properties analyses
Our partners’ laboratories conduct analysis of metal powders of various alloys, including:
Steel grades:
- carbon
- chromium
- high and low alloyed
- nickel-chromium
Alloys:
- High and low titanium based aluminum alloys;
- Nickel alloys;
- Copper alloys;
- Bronze-based alloys;
- Cobalt alloys;
Other alloys not listed here, on customer’s request;
At the moment 89 metal powder research methods have been certified, including:
Voids size and particle specific surface identification by applying methods of:
- Low-temperature nitrogen adsorption;
- Mercury injection porosimetry;
To measure particle sizes following methods are used:
Mechanical screen sizing;
- X-ray diffraction;
- Electronic and optical microscopy;
- Settling velocity method;
Metal powder chemical compositions (averaged) are analyzed by applying following methods:
- Solution chemistry;
- Spectrographic analysis;
Physical and chemical properties of the powder particles and their individual properties analyses are made by applying up-to-date techniques:
- Electron microprobe analysis (EMPА), which provides submicron resolution.
